Astrology and Gardening

Gardening is America's number one hobby, we spend BILLIONS of dollars each year on plants, seeds, best fertilizer  etc.,  all in the hopes of increasing our gardens productivity.

As an astrologer I haven't put a seed in the ground, planted or transplanted indoors or out in my garden without having  first checked my ephemeris (a guide to the position of the planets).

In the Bible it is written: "There is a time to sow and a time to reap> There is a time and purpose for all things under Heaven."

The most important information we need to  learn is…  where the  MOON  is!
We all recognize the influence of the MOON on the Ocean's tides. Police and Hospital emergency rooms brace for the FULL MOON.
The MOON rules growth, that is why whatever you plant will be most productive when you know which lunar influence to look for.

Also important is the zodiac sign the moon is in.
For the best sources of your garden, the most fertile signs are the Water signs Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces are the best for planting any time of the year.
Next best are the Earth signs, Taurus, Capricorn. Libra although an air sign is ruled by the planet Venus, the sign of beauty, named after the goddess of love. If your goal is to create a gorgeous display or beautiful flowers  plant when the Moon is in Libra.
It is best not to plant when the moon is in Aries, Gemini, Leo, Virgo, Sagittarius and Aquarius.
Understanding the moon signs and Gardening-

Taurus- an earth sign-Moist- productive- good for planting- especially root crops.

Gemini- an Air sign- dry-barren- Plan your Garden-don't plant.

Cancer- A water sign- very moist- very fertile-Best time to plant especially above ground crops. Also for excellent for transplanting.

Leo- A fire sign - driest , most barren sign-do not do any planting- good time to kill weeds and pests- or cultivate what is already planted.

Virgo- An earth sign- Barren-Do not plant- Best time to clean up garden- Order and organization time .

Libra- an air sign- moist and somewhat productive time- Best to plant ornamental flowers and plants for show and beauty.

Scorpio- A water sign- moist and very productive - excellent time to plant for growth of any type of plants-Also a good time to prune.

Sagittarius- A fire sign-dry and barren time- Do not plant- cleanup- weed garden.

Capricorn- An earth sign- Moderately productive time to plant.

Aquarius- An air sign- dry and barren. Do not plant time to kill weeds and insects.

Pisces- a water sign- Moist and very productive time to plant anything.

July planting Dates
Best day of the month is July 10th.
July 10th has a new Moon is Cancer. When the Sun and Moon are together in the most fertile sign you can be assured that you will have the best results possible.
Also the 17th and 18th  of July.
Moon is in Scorpio 15th and 16th moon is in Libra, July 22nd and 23rd Moon is in Capricorn.
For perennials ---- plant July 26th, 27th and 28th when the Full Moon moves into the sign of fertile Pisces.

Good Days for Planting
July 4th, 5th, 6th and 31st moon in Taurus.
